    wood handel oils ?

I typically use teak oil. I usually dip it and let it soak for the first coat, then apply three to five more coats after that, wiping down in between coats. After a couple days after the last coat, I use a coat of RenWax.

I'm no expert, but it all starts with a checkering file. 20 lines per inch is the most common size.

Looking for 5/8" thick or thicker g-10 or micarta....

I met a guy at ICCE from Atlas Billiard Supply. They sell micarta and G10 in all shapes and sizes. Most of the stuff you'll see on Ebay is from them, but he said they jack up the price to cover the Ebay fees. Might try buying from them directly.

    ICCE succeeds!

From my perspective at the back of the room, the show was very good. I passed Calvin's inspection board and got my voting membership in the Guild. I met a bunch of my internet buddies including Bruce Bump, Don Hansen, Ed Caffrey, Steve Culver, Justin Presson, Chris Jones, and many more. I had...

    Knife Show Stock

A few ideas. One, take as many as you want to sell. Two, if you have too few, you won't make expenses. If you have too many, you'll look like you don't sell many. 5 is too few. 20 is too many. Three, try and have a variety of price points represented. Don't bring all high end or low end...

    Icce

I'll be there Thursday afternoon for judging for KMG voting membership. Travis Payne and I are staying at some hotel he found, as the show hotel was all booked up. Be good to see some of you all again, and meet some more of you.

    Two more knives for ICCE

Bill, That bone sure came out staggy looking, but it is certainly bone. I got it from the estate of a knifemaker. I suspect it might be amber dyed bone from Culpepper. It was a set of scales, about 1" by 3.5" by 5/32 or so. I skin most if my deer with a knife this size, although it does fit...

    Two more knives for ICCE

I am moving from town to 15 miles out in the country the first week of August, and am scheduled to be at the International Custom Cutlery Expo in mid September. Since I have to tear my shop down for the move, I decided to go ahead and get all my show knives done before the tear-down, so as not...
