    Florida hurricane...

If I were you Drew I'd do my best to talk him into gathering as much important stuff he can and leave. or if he wants to stay if he doesn't have a shotgun, I'd bring him one because the looters are going to start showing up.

Yea, a lot of folks have nothing to go back to or a giant mess, it sucks. Hopefully his property isn’t too messed up. Kind of makes you think, you could be here one minute and gone the next. Like they say material things can be replaced, but when it’s everything you own it’s got to be tough on...

As far as using the brake on a chainsaw, I've never used it and don't plan on starting now. I've had them trip lots of times from kick back like their designed to do but I don't use it in normal use of the saw. Like you said Ken. I've certainly had quite a few close calls with getting killed in...

If the saw is running correctly the chains not moving, or the idle is set wrong. If the chains moving then you have your finger on the trigger and cutting. The brake is set by inertia, it’s not meant to be set on and off by the operator. I guess you could but it doesn’t Make any sense to me.

Your right Vic, when I got to my place three days after hurricane Michael the wife called and asked me how it looked. I told her if I was a women I’d be crying right now. Luckily the house survived but I didn’t know where to start cleaning up. Most of my pines were 18” and over 100’ tall, they...

I sure hope it doesn't come this way John although a couple days ago it looked that way. I don't think anyone will know for sure till later tomorrow. this area up here has tell tale signs everywhere something bad came thru, I'm still cleaning up after four years but I have a lot of thick woods...

    First time using Vinegaroon...

I haven't tried the dipping method but over the years I've learned that black dye is a different animal and I just as soon not mess with it anymoore after I saw the results I got from vinegaroon. I haven't had any finishing problems with any other color.

    First time using Vinegaroon...

That's why I'm using vinegaroon from now on, I've never really had issues with anything but the black dye and I'm not fighting with it any more. the vinegaroon was simple to make, easy to use and jet black with no problems.

    First time using Vinegaroon...

The vinegar dissolves the steel wool and the iron oxides have a reaction to the tannins in the leather and turns it blacker than night. So there’s no steel wool left but there is some funky stuff on the bottom and some floating on top, I used a big syringe to pull some from the middle of the...

    First time using Vinegaroon...

Yea I’m glad I tried it, from now on if I need to do black I’m using that. I’ve yet to find any dye that didn’t have even a little rub off at first but that black dye was hard to set. The last thing I need is for someone to buy a knife then later find dye rub off. I rubbed as hard as I could on...

    First time using Vinegaroon...

That's what I used, half a ball of 0000 steel wool in a mason jar and filled up with white vinegar a little above the steel wool. let it sit for 5-6 days and it was good to go. one thing I noticed...you got to be careful handling any leather you don't want dyed, even residue on your fingers will...

    First time using Vinegaroon...

So I wanted to make a black sheath but I didn't really want to use the black dye I have which is Fiebings USMC black. in the past I've had problems with it rubbing off no matter what I did so I tried making up some Vinegaroon. this stuff worked great! absolutely black with absolutely no rub off...
