    What's the the process for dyeing ivory or bone, and for ivory, is that detrimental to the value of the ivory ? I have a large piece of Walrus. 4 5/8"x 3 1/4"x almost 2" and it's about as white as a 1950's refrigerator. I have a vaccume chamber to do the job if needed, but I am just wondering...

    It's treated with a castable resin first, the pressed into a mold. Once that hardens I cut the bigger block into handle blocks and stabilize them in that form.

    Thanksgiving Day knife, 2014

    Something I finished this morning. This is a knife for a client as a Christmas present to her husband. I'm hoping he will like it. 3 1/2" 5160 blade, 7 1/4" O.A.L. Scales are stabilized Birdseye Maple. It's a cute little knife.
