    Bandsaw Tolerances?

Also, don't try to cut stabilized stuff with a table saw... I've tried and it doesn't work well lol, dulls even the carbide teeth pretty quick

What's going on in your shop?

Just checked and it's within .0017" across a 4.5" folder blank but I'm not getting any runout at the ends, or if so only a couple tenths. Like I said, it gets me close and I finish up on my real surface grinder

What's going on in your shop?

I'll have to check the next one I do... I think I'm holding less than .001", on a folder blade that is. Then I take to to my real surface grinder to clean up and get that final precision. The SGA is good for hogging but not finish grinding imho. I'm still getting waves but I think it's because...

What's going on in your shop?

Sure I mounted a trough and used kydex for one of the 'mudflaps' and rubber horse stall matte for the other (although since this is an old Pic it's rubber for both). Here's a quick Pic and a video of how I use it with sharpening a knife... I have flood and mist coolant set up

What's going on in your shop?

The flood coolant is but I set up my grinder similar to how Nathan Carothers (CPK knives) has his... Basically a trough and a few 'mud flaps' haha, stays pretty clean actually with not much mess I set up right

What's going on in your shop?

Rough grinding some hardened blades today... It's honestly hard to describe how nice it feels grinding under flood coolant. Of course it doesn't work for finish grinding (I use misters for that) but it makes rough grinding go QUICK

looks amazing brother! So much attention to detail, love it!!! Hey have you ever seen how mastersmith Kyle Royer finishes out his damascus? He started using wax overtop which makes it look incredible imho... I love watching his stuff. Minute mark 18.24 here not that yours doesn't look great as...

Which EDM stone works best on Magnacut? Let's find out!

Yeah, the CS HD stones seem to be pretty amazing... I'm gonna order an air profiler soon hopefully and see what time I make with it and these stones

Which EDM stone works best on Magnacut? Let's find out!

Yep... I think they have a sample set of all the grits of the same model stone which seems perfect as I think they would last a while. The ones I got here are 1/4"x1"x6" so plenty of abrasive. If you try some keep us posted on your thoughts!

Which EDM stone works best on Magnacut? Let's find out!

True, but when I know I'll be hand rubbing I'll alternate the grind direction on the belt slightly so I make sure it's a true 400 grit finish.

The latter... Just the corner of the end!

Which EDM stone works best on Magnacut? Let's find out!

I called Boride abrasives and they were kind enough to send a sample pack of 3 of their recommended stones for tool and stainless steel. I requested 400 grit as that's what I finish at on my belt grinder and I wanted to see which stone would remove the scratches quickest. They also included a...
