    Sad news

For what it's worth I was reading the news on the web and they sited an incident that happened last June. It happened at a Caterpillar in Illinois when a worker fell into a vat of molten iron. OSHA fined Caterpillar over $140,000. They said that the crucible was over 2000°, but if it was...

    Florida hurricane...

It looks like a lot of us were waiting to hear from relatives in Florida. My sister and her husband live on the east coast and they had to evacuate to a motel. Just heard from her that they made it to the eldest son's house. They don't know anything about their house except that the...

    Florida hurricane...

Just heard from my sister on the other coast. They were going to ride it out in their house but they had over a foot of rain forecast and were afraid that the development's drainage system wasn't up to it and decided to camp out at the Holiday Inn. Manchineel handle scales...

There is no part of that tree that is not poisonous. I wouldn't send the fruit to anyone I didn't want to kill. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't pick the fruit because I like the idea of living a little longer. Doug

    Manchineel handle scales...

I have read that in the past it was used to make furniture after the wood cured. However, I believe that it's a protected species despite being one of the deadliest trees in the world so you might want to check into the legality of selling a knife with Manchineel scales. Doug

I'm REALY not a fan of "gut hooks" as I consider them totally useless, but that's me. Other than that those knives and the sheaths are outstanding pieces of work. Doug

    2nd Knife in the works

Assault and self defense are two sides of the same coin. It's made for fighting and that's why I decided long ago that I wasn't making one, but that's just me. Doug

    Knife ID help?

Can't give you much help on the folding knife but the first knife is a bayonet of some model. My gut feeling is that it's WWI or earlier. That's not much but it will give you a starting point for research. Doug
