A little more fun with CAD

Have you tried Fusion 360? I've found the rendering to look super nice. Though, unless you offload the rendering onto their server, it might take a while unless you have a lot of computing "horsepower" at your disposal... I think the paid version of F360 is like $100 a year? Or maybe I'm...

Also - you got a smoker? Try making some squirrel jerky. Pretty good stuff! :D Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

    Metal lathe...

For a lathe that small, it looks really stout. $500 seems like a really fair price, assuming it's in working order. A Harbor Freight 7X12 is $800... Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

    Leather Question - Color Transfer

So, I started leather working when I was a kid. Haven't done it in a while, BUT I had the same issue. Buff the heck out of the leather with a rag after you stain it. Also, I recommend alcohol based stain over water based. It just works better for me. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

The Most Dangerous Thing in MY Shop...

Oh, and for all yall on blood thinners and whatnot... if you get some paper towels, maybe 2 or 3 squares, fold them up into a 2 inch square or a little bigger and put them in your wallet, they end up loosing their "fluff" and don't noticeably bulk up your wallet. I keep that and 4 or 5 bandaids...

The Most Dangerous Thing in MY Shop...

So, I like to regrind some of my ripping blades. I had a 6TPI raker blade that I ground a large hook tooth into every few teeth. Think of it like a "combination blade" that you'd use on a table saw. It cut down on feed pressure. If I cut slowly it'd give me a "6TPI finish". If I sorta forced it...

What's going on in your shop?

That's going to be a great looking blade! I'm looking forward to the post HT pictures! Are you doing the HT yourself or sending it out?

    Shieldon knives debut

So - here's an "interesting" knife. It has zinc scales (or is that the entire frame?) and a 3Cr13 blade with a hardness of... wait for it... 32 to 34 HRC. They say on their website: "the 3Cr13 material with a hardness below HRC30 has better workability and is easy to achieve better surface...

    Shieldon knives debut

Well, it says they're 23... and apparently their kid is old enough to get a knife for. Ummmm... they ARE surprisingly old, then. [emoji848][emoji2955] Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

Which EDM stone works best on Magnacut? Let's find out!

I've been trying to remember the name of the company, but they make something similar to the air profiler. Might want to hold off on that purchase till I post a link to them. Edit: Nevermind! I'm pretty sure it's the same thing you're already looking at. I'm glad that only took me half an hour...

    Knife ID help?

It appears to be a "Type 30" bayonet. BUT there is more than one variety of the Type 30. I THINK it's the earliest varient (that doesn't mean rare). Here a few websites that MIGHT be helpful. I don't know how reliable they are, but they look the part, anyway...
