    Hex Anvil

I've never heard them called hex anvils before. They're bench blocks. You can also get them in plastic. Good for punching out rivets and that sorta thing. Though, you can really use them for anything. They're just a handy working surface to keep on the bench. I know them from working on...

I was actually thinking about this the other day - chainsaw brakes. When I'm not cutting, I kick the brake on. Only takes a second to put the brake on and take it off. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

If that's what you're doing after a year of self teaching, you're certainly on the right track. If you have any questions, check out the WeldingWeb forum. Lots of knowledgeable welders over there. Weldingtipsandtricks, 6011.com, and This Old Tony are 3 YouTube channels that come to mind for...

Nice looking grinder! Are you using a foot pedal with that TIG machine? If you don't mind a little constructive criticism, I would let the puddle form a bit more at the beginning of the weld, and at the very end of the weld I would slowly taper the amperage off and keep moving. Edit...

    First time using Vinegaroon...

I havent done leather work in 3 years or so, so nothing current. I'll see what I can find. Edit: I found this... it's not what I'd consider my "good" work. That's just a hammer loop that I made. If I had to guess, in that picture it has a coat of oil soaking in. I still have it somewhere. I'm...

Do you watch much YouTube? If you do, I can pass on the names of a BUNCH of great machining channels and videos to learn from. They're all longer format (20+ minute for most), so you need to be comfortable when you watch em, but they're worth watching. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

I've never had issues with USMC black rubbing off, personally. Are you talking about the alcohol based dye or the water based stuff. I had a bottle of water based brown Fiebings and it SUCKED compared to the other stuff. After I dye leather, I scrub it pretty vigorously with a dry cloth. Then...

It's illegal to open carry in Florida?! You sure 'bout that? What if you're hog or deer hunting? It'd be good to have a pistol with you. Something to finish off a hog. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

Nice knife! I don't speak Japanese and I've never really learned about Japanese cutlery. So, reading your posts, I always get a laugh at the names. Like the nicknames little kids give things. :D Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

I found a 10" wet stone grinder Craigslist for $40. All cast iron, too! Single wheel, belt driven. I'm calling the guy tomorrow. STILL haven't gotten around to finishing that 1X42 wet belt sharpener. I just need to finish the sheetmetal guard/reservoir. Lots of weird bends. The tricky part is...

That's a good lookin' machine! What wheels are you using to grind your welds? Just curious. I was told by some guys who weld more than me that Walter and 3M wheels are the ones to get. In my opinion, ceramic abrasives are the ones to get. They're AWESOME. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk
