I am currently a student at MSU in Lake Charles, LA and will graduate in December with a bachelors in Business Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship. I am a wanna-be knife maker that is just jumped in head first. I made one knife from scratch with the wonderful owners of Smith and Sons Knives in Sulphur, LA and its been down hill since then. Ive bought my first grinder a KMG multi-speed 220V a milling machine/drill press, a sand blaster, anodizing machine, Baldor buffer, plasma cutter, TIG welder, MIG welder, plasma cutter and a wire feed welder all within the last 6 months. Now Ive just got to get started making my own knives. I have the material 75% bought from USAKnifemaker. The stag, pins, bolsters, steel, corby bolts, micarta, etc. I just honestly don't know where to begin. I keep watching videos and reading books but am in fear of making something less than perfect so I procrastinate. So if anyone has any advice on getting started please give me a push bc I now have $1000's of dollars in machines and ZERO knives started.
Thanks,
Mason
