The blade is tool steel (0,8 % C).Slightly hollow grind ,fine secondary bevel.Brass bolster.The handle is hand carved from deer antler,inspired from the Lewis chessmen pieces.Short description from Wikipedia: ,,The Lewis Chessmen (or Uig Chessmen, named after the bay where they were found)...

The blade is forged from spring steel.The handle is from deer antler,piece of cow horn and iron pin.The handle is hand carved.The cracks in the handle are superficial. The leather sheath is also hand carved. Total length 20 cm Blade length 9,5 cm Blade thickness 4,2 mm Comments are welcome :)

thank you all for the comments :happy: I do not fully agreed with you.Sometimes a knife blade with forging marks,describing the process of making can be very nice,adding individuality for the knife.

I made 3 medieval style blades (London excavations),two for order and one for me :) Two blades are forged from spring steel,one from bearing steel: Two blades finished,befor sending: Yesterday finished the handle for my blade-I use walnut,leather,brass and iron pins. Total length 20,5 cm...

The blade is forged from Audi coil spring.The handle wood is mulberry.The handle is not completely straight (third picture) I hope you like it,comments are welcome :) Total length 23.8 cm Handle length(inclusi the cilindrical part of the steel) 11 cm Blade thickness 4.8 mm
