I got my buffer today. Went with a 3/4 HP 1800 RPM model. Darn thing is HUGE! I was about half scared to turn it on. It is soooo quiet though. Had to pull out one of my knives and buff it out again. Had been using a grinder with buffs on it but the shafts were so short it was hard to buff the entire knife handles without bumping the retainer nuts. Don't have that problem any more! I think I'm gonna like this thing - if it doesn't impale me!
