Two in Walnut

Here are two that I have recently finished.

Walnut is a very beautiful wood, and can come in many varieties, as everyone knows.

The top one is a pretty simple "utility" type knife, with a chuck of walnut that I picked up in the woods. Brass Loveless bolts.

Bottom one is in Claro Walnut Burl and black micarta, with a couple small brass mosaic pins and spacer.

I have recently purchased a new etching machine, and these are the first two knives that I have put my makers mark on.

Been grinding some blades with "lawnmower" steel for awhile now, and mostly giving them all to hunting buddies and family. Finally made the change to a premium steel (D2) with a great heat treat, and am throwing my hat into the knife-making ring.

Any comments are appreciated, and welcome. Thanks.
