Has any one acquired one of these quality little antiques? I scored one at a shop sale for 30 bucks (christmas gift from inlaws) with a newer belt and new disk but no side table for the disk. I have discovered that it moves way faster than the 4x36 so now am relearning to grind a blade.
Also the spring tension works sweet for using the slack of belt to round things.

I made about 8 blades with a 1x42, I changed the pulley size and slowed mine down. Good score. I also put a glass platen on mine as the old one was dished.

You can mount it to a board or work bench with another larger motor and step pulleys with link belt and just let the motor on the 1 x 42 free wheel.

That way you can make it run slower and stronger.

I'm looking to advance the work and family space meaning house hunting and plan to build a 2x72 grinder and a forge to ht and mabbe start forging in the next month. Thanks for the tip rhino. It works great to clean up the micarta that I'm working with. It took a few min to take the bevel it had up to square on both sides.
