Slip Joint Restoration

This knife was my wife’s great grandfather and may preceded that. It was worn slam out. I don’t know if I can bring it back but if it doesn’t work out, I didn’t ruin it.

The main blade was broken and there was no tension since all the pins were worn out.

So I’m only going back with one blade. I’m not brave enough to try both blades.

I may etch the blade. Haven’t decided yet.

Well, I’m calling this one done. I used the original bolsters. Unfortunately I damaged them taking the knife apart. But this is not a new build so I’m. Good with the wear and tear on the old parts. Not a perfect zero step sequence but close.

Sometimes tearing an old one down and not damaging it is harder than building one from scratch!!! Great job !! What kind of burl is that?
