Quick Set of Kiridashi for a Buddy

Made this set of Karidashi for a Buddy who is a professional trapper.
Cant decide if I want to leave as is, cord wrap, or add scales. Any thoughts?

Like those Mike I would put scales on them especially if potential for cold weather use with numb hands maybe some micarta or dymondwood.

Thanks Ausbrooks, I agree. Tried a cord wrap and it just doesn't seem right. I have some thin Micarta so I thinking that's what it will be!
