Quenching medium questions

Aside from the flash point or any possible danger factors,... you could probably find some steel/geometry and applications that it would work O.K. on... like any other.

... couldn't be any worse than water or motor oil and people use those all the time. ;)

Nothing is without a few drawbacks and 100% ideal.

... AAA and fresh canola are among the most foolproof.

I've thought about trying DPG (Di Propylene Glycol), and/or DPG diluted with water. also used in stage foggers and many other things.]
we used either DPG or propylene glycol for simulated smoke when in USN teaching fire fighting. was considered non-toxic, and has an anise smell. also used propylene glycol and water in chilled water system for machine cooling as an alternative to conventional anti-freeze(we cooled the fluid to 10 degrees F). am interested in hearing your results.
