Problem with O-1 or is it me???

Hey Cal. I'll make one more suggestion and that is to get yourself some Parks AAA from Maxim Oil out of Ft. Worth. You'll see a difference in the hardness of your knives! I bought a five gallon pail last year and I believe it was around $85 shipped to me. They also have some of their own formulations that has a similar speed of AAA but I can't remember the exact price, but I think it was around $50 or $60 shipped.
 
I put mine blades during the tempering in a tin metal bread baking pan to reduce direct heat radiation from the heaters inside the oven. I also tried filling the pan with sand or metal rasp from the grinder bucket. It will reduce inertness of a higher temp peaks.
