New improved work space.

Well I broke down and ordered a new 2 x 72 2 hp belt sander and decided that a new sander needs a nice new home. So I got some 1 x 6 untreated lumber and went to town. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to sand some on it. I gotta say that the lumber quality from priddy's is a lot better than the boards that I got from lowes. When my sander ships I'll do a setup vid.

Congrats on the new work bench and even more congrats on the 2 x 72!!! Once you start geinding with it you'll wonder how you got alone without it. What grinder did you get?

I ordered a pheer 454 with a 2 hp baldor motor and a ac tech sm vector programmable digital drive control. Mr navaro is a great guy. He had no problems talking with me and answering all of my questions (of which there were many). I can't wait to get my sander in. I'll post a setup vid when I get the chance.

Yeah he is a nice guy. I am super stoked to get my machine in. I like the look of the 1 x 6 so much that i've decided to carry on up the wall with them. I'm also gonna rebuild my entire high bench with them as well. Hopefully having finished walls will help keep my little shop warmer. Eventually I want to rip up that osb flooring and replace it too. Ahhh one day I will have a properly finished work shop.

I really dig that work bench! It's a fresh approach.

Every time I think work surface it's immediately 2x4's and plywood...

Kudos for creativity!

Grats on the 2x72 as well. It's a game changer.

Believe it or not I spent a grand total of 60 dollars thus far for all the materials. Priddy's usually has good deals on building supplies.

The feeling of improving your work area is nearly as good as making a knife. Finished my new work area back in September of 2014 got injured and didn't get to use it till October 2015. Nicely finished for weather control and good lighting is what I enjoy about it the most. In South Florida we need good ventilation to keep it as cool as possible! LOL

I lived in fort walton beach florida while i was in the military. I remember the humidity well. Here in the mountains I have the opposite problem. It is allready getting down to 30 at night. With my walls unfinished I have to run my kerosine heater full bore and its still cold in the little shop. Hopefully finishing the walls will keep me warmer. It is nice to see all those mill cut boards gone and a nice new surface down. Unfortunately I will be covering my bench in 14 gauge steel.
