Hello, My name is Doug Stewart. I'm new here, and looking to learn and develop some ideas. I'm a knife user and would like to try my skills and make a knife or two. I had heard many stories of regular people making a knife from an old file. I felt that I should give it a try and see what I can learn along the way. Thanks for looking and I hope to hear your input.

you can start with old files but you have to make sure it's solid and not a cased one.

Head down to the Shop Talk in the knife maker's forum like Bruce mentioned and we can help get you started.
