Hello, well I have been bitten and even though I am wasting a lot of steel and wood I am enjoying making knives or butter spreaders is what they are more like.. I am primarily a turner and most of my work being pens but after wanting to make a knife for a long time I finally started with a 1x30 and that lasted all of 2 week. I now have a 2x72 and have made around a dozen knives.

Welcome to KD.

knife making is all about practice. More practice, less butter spreaders . I still get a cul blade every now and then, but it's usually when I,m working in the shop tired or stressed.

I don't make butter spreaders, I am making bits of steel for when I get around to making forge welded hawks. I'll get it right one day. Welcome to KD. Ed
