I wanted to make a gift for a gift exchange at my Tae Kwon Do school. So I decided to make a knife to give away.

This is my first knife. Used stock removal method. Made from 1080 steel, about 11 inches in total length and 1 1/2 inch in width. About 1/4 inch in thickness. Used stainless steel pins and the handle is made from red palm. Sheath is made from double shoulder leather and dyed in oxblood. Knife took me an entire weekend and then some to complete, probably close to 30 hours in total.

This bad boy is now in the hands of a very happy instructor. Could not have done it without the lessons and guidance of George Brackett. Thank you George!

David, your a good listener, and great to work with. The fact you went home, start and finished this project on your said a lot about your character. A lot of hand sanding went into this (could have just come over and used the 2x72)...

...wax on, wax off...

LOL

You only it learn by doing!

See you soon.
