I thought I posted this last night? Darn i-Pad. Not forum friendly! Sorry if a dup.
Happy Fathers day a tad early out there !!
Issue: The refurb muffle furnace we have runs great. Put in a SOLO PID controller. Seems to run just fine. But- the Son wants to sell it and get a newer Evenheat. The KF27. They look sweet and all but I'm just not in the know about open-coil in the chamber and HT work. he'll do his knives and axes. I'll do usual small parts for various projects and local customers. Just HT work anticipated. MAx is 2200 (2183 if I recall) on the k type TC we put in.
Muffle furnace and TC proble w/ controllers to take a hit on the wall temp -vs- part temp -vs- air temp via the TC probe.
Not sure what a Evenheat KF type uses for a Temp probe. Wall or open air TC? WIll call them in a few.
OVerall, Just wondered if ya'll had a comment on muffle (enclosed chamber free of the heat source) vs the open coil types.
