A 4" bladed seax, in the style of the 10th century, for your enjoyment.

The blade is 1084, the handle is hard (sugar) maple.

I'm still learning with the sheaths, this one took twice as long to make as the knife it houses, but at least the rivets look much better this time around.
The metal sheath fittings are largely guesswork, so little has survived of the originals. I think next time I may spiff them up a bit with some stampwork and grooves...

Great looking little seax. It looks to me like your sheath work is coming along real NICE. I would like to see a pic of knife in sheath.:biggrin: Wade
