Liner lock question.

I am interested in making a liner lock folder. The only folders I have made have been friction. My question is what material and thickness should the liner be? I checked out a few videos that have used titanium. I am just wondering if it has to be titanium and how thick should it be and still be user friendly. Thanks for any help.

For a normal size pocket knife, I make the liners from .050" thick 6AL/4V titanium. Nothing else will work as well for a linerlock. It makes a natural spring.
