How do I remove scratches without a beltgrinder or real buffer

Hey guys,

there is a junk market coming up and I need to pimp a few knives

they are lightly scratched

you know from kydex sheaths, light use and so on...

SO what´s the best way to get rid of the scratches without using the grinder or hand sanding???

Any abrasive wheels I could buy which would do the job?

Or would you recommend some abrasive buffer compound, scotch brite wheels ...

Thanks for any advice

Why do you not want to hand sand?
I would think some super fine grit paper, and a little oil
would work.
If they are not very deep, you may try your buffer
and some polish? I'm sure someone will be along to
give somemore advice.
Good luck,

God bless,Keith

THX,

I´m a little lazy LOL

And I won´t be able to sell those knives for a good price sine it´s a junk sale
So I don´t want to put too much time and effort into them

So no handsanding

Dremel wheels are too small.
I have tried...

Would need something bigger ..aren´t there some wheels out there who are used for putting on a satin finish..I think i have seen some somewhere...

Too bad that I can´t remember where

There's no "magic" formula.....if you want to remove scratches, you're going to have to put a little effort into it....whether that be hand sanding, buffing, or grinding. If the scratches are a concern, then taking the time to remove them is worth the time and effort.

True...

But over here most ppl who go to a junk sale are cheap

I know because I´m one of them *haha*

No seriously.

People expect like new stuff for a few cent to a few $

That´s why time is money and the more time I put into each knife the more I have to ask and the less I´ll sell...

But looks like I´ll have to put more time into it then I want to because scratched knives won´t sell at all

And the goal of making enough money for taking a few guys to BurgerKing must be achieved ;-)

You can get scothcbrite wheels and belts that will give a nice sating finish. They aren't real cheap. It will be hard to get an even finish on an assembled knife becuase the guards or handle will get in way.
