This one was froged from a rail spike. It is 12 3/8" long with a 7 1/4" blade. The grip is alligator belly hide.

More spikes! How are they for carbon content Wade. I have a friend who works for BN and he can get me all I can eat!
 
Not sure what one wade used but the ok ones will have a hc on the head and will run around .40-45 from every thing have dug up on them. ( side note look for the super goop are whatever they call it dawn dish soap and water and something else hardens lower carbon steel really well they say) sorry wade for rambling, on your post :)

Doug, No this is just having a little fun knife.
Troy, All I use are the HC spikes and quenched in water. I have read where they don't hold a very good edge but get great comments from customers that use them from skinning and gutting deer to an every day hard work tool. I myself have been very pleased with the edge .
