Hello and please excuse my tardiness in introducing myself. I go by the handle Bongo and I love kukri from Nepal.
I dabble in leatherwork, but I really want to try knifemaking. I'm partially disabled, so I have plenty of time to devote to this
fascinating hobby. I'm experienced in woodworking and leadlight / stained glass, so I have LOTS of patience.
It seems that the majority of good steel made in Oz is exported to China to fuel their construction boom.
At least that's what I've discovered so far. So I guess I'll be asking Y'all all sorts of questions about suppliers in the U.S.A. of
carbon steel and wood.
In particular, the stock removal process of knifemaking, looks like a good way to get started.
Anyway, enough rambling from me and I look forward to meeting many of you online.
