hi guys! I'm completely new to this and have lots of questions. What I'm wanting to do is make roughed out blacksmithed knives. I would like to build a forge and make my blanks, but I have no experence in either process. So I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Also looking for someone within driving distance of me that would show me some things or willing to take on an apprentice.

welcome...it might help you if you said where in ky you are..the ky border is 100 or so miles +/-north from me so im to far for you ...but there are many in your state that might help..look for a blacksmith group...the appalaction area blacksmiths are in your area i think.
