help with a kydex sheath for a small knife with a finger gaurd.

Hey everyone, I have only done a couple kydex sheaths. Thought they turned out ok. The knives I did then for had bolsters, wich didn't seem problematic. I would like to do one for a small Skinner that has a finger guard. I googled kydex sheaths and didn't notice a sheath made for a knife with a finger guard. I'm sure it can be done. I would assume the problem would be that the kydex would form all the way around the finger guard locking it in place. Do you just heat that area up and reform it? Or can you cut it to just the top of the guard. Advice/ pictures would be much appreciated. Thanks Sunny.

The kydex can be formed in such a way that it "pinches" the bottom half of the hole and is cut away above it.

One rule of thumb is that it is the clamshell action of the sheath that holds the knife and it should open above it without any "overhangs" that will imprison the knife.
