Ahoy!

I've always been into knives and firearms.. Basically anything that holds an edge or fires a projectile, and lately I've been pondering making my own knife.

And so here I am.. Hoping to get a little more knowledge on the subject before I dive in. And who knows where the road could take me from there.

I'm in Boiling Springs, SC. Seems we have a lot of makers and member in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee.
 
I've noticed that, on the forums and from talking to people around town - my question then is where is everyone?

I'm in Sumter, and I was talking with my gunshop owner friend about my hopeful project of making a knife and he told me "Well there's a lot of those guys around here, but it's a dying craft so I'm glad to hear it."

Word of caution, knife making can be habit forming and turn into an obsession.:D;)
