Many thanks to Darrin Sanders and the rest of you gentlemen for your mentoring. I had a short piece of 1084 left over from a match set of throwers, so I thought I would do a little hidden tang skinner to see if I could pull off the heat treat on my own.
I dont have all the proper tools yet. so my buffing job is not complete, but the test was a success. My local knife shop buddy said he thought it was between a 58-60. I know it did get hard. Thank you all a ton for the help and encouragement. I now believe that I can make something pretty in a few months maybe? This is what I needed to spur me on
