I call this a claxe. Part hand axe part cleaver. Created to chop ribcages, pelvis and make kindling.

Too far to the shop right now, but if you look in pic you wil see a .410 shotshell in the rear and a 30-30 cartridge in the front, which should give you an idea of scale. Steel is about 3/16 inch and is L-6, repurposed sawmill blades. This is not a pounding tool as in the hatchet....strictly to carve or chop. This one is fairly plain and I could pimp it up with mosaic pins and file work. Works on mutant Zombies as well! The nice thing about using the sawblade steel is that there are few parameters to work in insofar as scale is concerned. Using a torch to rough out the blank means this could be half this size or half again as large. I think of the sawblade as a pallette.
