California Knives

Here are two California style knives done in a joint venture the blades are by Buzz Johns the rest by me, the engraving is by Franz Marktl. One blade is damascus the other is 440 C one handle pre ban ivory the other is ironwood, sheaths and fittings are nickel silver. Deane

Hanks for the kind comments, I do like making them, Michael Price and Will & Fink made some great knives from 1850 to 1900. I was lucky enough to make a copy off a original Michael price may have some pictures. Deane
 
I did find someP1010104.jpgP1010105.jpgP1010106.jpgP1010107.jpg pictures The sheath is one piece, is was rolled on the top and soldered on the bottom, the handle is real California abalone shell, some people seid the blade was to short to be an original but it fit the sheath, who knows. Deane
