ames hardness rc tester feedback needed

I want to take a step and looking to buy an Ames Rc hardness tester .
Do any of you have any experience with it?
CAn it be used for blades?
Since i live in Iceland its the only one that can be shipped with the lower cost :15:

No, because I don't have a table mounted one. I was unable to get my readings consistent from time to time.

I'm currently using calibrated test files and trying to figure out where to put a table mounted unit.
