I made this for a customer, it is my first attempt at this type of knife. The Blade is Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel,60Rc,3/32"at the spine, flat ground to .010" at the edge before sharpening, with a bead blasted finish. The handle is ipe wood with stainless steel corby bolts.

Nice looking knife. I like ipe. It is also known as Brazilian walnut and is grown commercially. As Calvin stated,it it tough as nails. I rehandled a spatula spreader with it and it has endured a lot of soaking in water and abuse. I used Gorilla Glue and finished it with several coats of boiled linseed oil. Has a smell similar to lignum vitae when it is worked.
