I finally got some time between my real job to have some fun in the shop. I have been wanting to try a birds eye pivot for a long time and after some debat I also wanted to try and grind a blade freehand without any holding jigs.

well... I'm here to tell you the grinding free hand takes a lot of practice. I can see were it can help in the future but it will take a few blades to start getting the hang of it. I have always struggled with a nice crisp grind line and throwing my crutch away didnt help that any.

the birds eye pivot turned out pretty good for the first one.

its far from perfect, but man is it fun to try.
