1095/bacote hunter

here is a little hunter just finished. bacote wood with a 4 inch blade of 1095.
just a buffing,and edge left to do thanks for looking.

Good looking knife. I'm always a big fan of Bocote... the grain always varies and the coloration is always interesting.
 
thanks guys, i love working with wood but even nice dried stuff seems to move a lot, bacote and iron wood,maybe some olive wood are the only ones i use a lot cuz they seem to stay put! what are your favorites?
 
I like the oily stuff- rosewood, cocobolo, ironwood cause it grinds easy and buffs out without finishing and makes a durable handle. I haven't used bocote yet but have a piece and think I will really like.
 
I'll say Teak Burl, Cocobolo, Bocote, Ironwood, Olive Wood Burl, Macassar Ebony and top honors goes to True Lignum Vitae.
