Always carry some kind of folder for cutting boxes open, string etc... I use my Kukri around the yard a lot to cut bamboo, clear brush etc... Big solid blade that takes an edge and dishes out the punishment to the foliage!

When I was 17 my Dad had me help him rebuild something similar to that except it was 5-6 feet tall in places. Now that I have hit that age range I understand why he paid me to help.

You can post on iforgeiron.com Lots of good info on the site except some of the people that reply can be a little 'gruff'. I use both sites as good sources of info.

It is still a little thick so a little more forge time is in order. I am thinking of leaving it forge finished. I did a little bit of grinding to see how it was coming along.

Thanks for the information. The blades didn't warp during the process.

Does if effect the steel if you heat treat over the temp stated in the specs? Say it calls for 1500 before quench and you quench at 1900, will it effect the steel in a negative way?
