#2 Fixed Blade with Micarta WIP

Came across a little free time and decided to start my second. I got the blade from Texas Knifemaking, and decided to go with black micarta for a sort of "tactical hunter". I got one scale epoxied on so far and I did some shaping so I figured I would share what I have so far.

    T88 Cure/working time question

Hey guys, I'm starting my second knife. Its a drop point with micarta scales. I did a little pre-shaping and then glued and clamped up one side. The package says 60 minute gel time and 24-36hr full cure at 77F. Do I have to wait the full 24-36hr before I start doing more sanding? On a side...

    Number 1 Complete!

Well I finished my first knife! It's a 440C blade with lacewood scales attached with aluminum corbys and a stainless tong tube. I did a super glue finish and finish sanded it to 1200 grit. I took the mirror finish on the bolsters down to the satin finish of the corbys. I learned a lot from...

I currently use Tapatalk on 5 different forums, and was disappointed to find that KD wasnt one of the...

    Newbie Questions

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to make my first knife from a premade blade and micarta. I'm just waiting on orders to come in, but i have a few questions. The blade i have coming in has a mirror finish on it and I'd rather have a duller satin style finish on it, what can I use to accomplish this...

New from SE Wisconsin with a couple of questions

I was browsing my regular firearms forum and found a link to knifekits.com. We have a couple of knife makers over there so I took a look. Seems like a hobby I could really get into (I'm a tinker-er by nature). I'm thinking for my first knife I want to do a full tang blade without bolsters and...
