    CPM M4 hardness

    cpm m4 is a very fine durable steel. 58-60r/c for a knife blade is a perfect r/c. any higher r/c and brittleness comes along with that. randy.

    dave, since the lock came out so deep, i remade the liner.....now its a little light, but wearing in. as far as wasting ti, i am getting better at setting up my cnc. i still have to cut out the scales, and will dry-run first to lesson the waste. the second folder is coming out way better. randy.

    fred, the angles edge, or bevel are both given from the centerline plane. the actual angle that they are is a different issue. everyone uses different angles for the bevels depending on thickness, width etc. , and i like th use a 30 deg. for the edge. "15 deg. per side from centerline". randy.

    yea, grind a lil drop point on it.....a lil shorter blade is better than the tip stickin out. looks good. peace, randy.

    update got my second folder made....still have to spend a lil time to put the finishing touch on. the blade is CPM S-30V at 60r/c hardness. the rest of the knife is the same materials as the first....titanium liners, carbon fiber scales, bronze bushings, stainless hardware....overall i am happy...
