    Birthday set for my mother-in-law

Just finished this set for my mother-in-law. They are all AEB-L stainless, .070" in thick, heat treated by Peters. She asked for a boning knife, a small chef, and a paring knife. This is what she gets. Handles are black micarta with York Gum burl highlights. Sorry the poor pic quality, I...

    Anniversary Santoku (big pics)

Thanks. I'm pretty pleased with this one. Still a few things I need to improve upon. I still have a hard time keeping the area of the blade in front of the "bolster" crisp and clean. But overall I'm happy. The pins might be my best set to date.

    Large Skinner

It's 154cm, .085" thick. OD Micarta handle with stainless pins and tube. 9.5" OAL, 4.75" blade. Full flat grind and wicked sharp. I also made the sheath. It's the first sheath I've finished, so it's a little rough. It started life as a commissioned piece. My wife's friend asked me to...

    Belated Intro

My name is Jason and I just realized when I replied to a thread on the forum that it was my first post here. I never did an intro. So here I am. I've been working at this about 18 months now, learning the craft of knifemaking and acquiring/building my tools and equipment. I've loved...

    lanyard hole problems

Have you considered sanding down the pins, if you can't get the holes any larger? You might be able to chuck the tubes/rods in a drill press then use a piece of sand paper. This would rough up the surface for better glue adhesion and remove enough stock to fit in a tight hole.
