    Marks and stencils, help!

Very cool story, that's what I wanted to hear! Actually I work for a company called kraken crushed concrete (neat play on words). I didn't even consider the vast difference in markets and I can appreciate the approach you are taking on the stencil. The design is actually very appealing as it...

    Marks and stencils, help!

Ahh I see now, sorry about that. I'll be honest with ya, etching stencils seem to be the part that gets complicated. It's either expensive, or you get poor results. I assume you already have some type of etcher if your looking into stencils, and the do it yourself route is absolutely the most...

    Marks and stencils, help!

Ernie grospitch of Blue lightning stencil is who your thinking of and he does an excellent job from what I've seen and heard. I will be using his services soon as I am in the market for the same thing, and don't want to spend the time for trial and error on making my own. I even have the photo...

    Etching Question/Problem

Not to completely derail this thread but that cell phone shocking comment made me laugh hard! I rarely answer my phone when I'm not in the garage, and I find it really messes with my product in the end if I do. On topic now, couldn't you just cut your pads smaller as opposed to making a new...

    Sharpening with Belts

I also decided to give this a shot on my little 1x30 harbor freight special. I bought a succession of belts up to 9 micron, specifically some norax pyramids and some gators, and than a couple leather belts from usaknifemaker. I have yet to try it because a skunk took up residence in my garage...

Long time lurker... Time to sign up!!!

Out of work for a week so far and I've barely made a dent on this forum. I love coming to a place where all aspects of blades come into play. Hoping to get back to the grinder sometime next week, but I have some 1x30 belts including leather so I plan on learning to sharpen with all of the DULL...

Long time lurker... Time to sign up!!!

I've been poking my head in here for a good chunk of time now, and given the fact all of my supplies from usaknifemaker rolled in just in time, I think it's time I join the community. Only bummer is that I placed my order friday for my pyroceram, belts, more steel and everything else I needed...
