VFD and Motor Wiring

These seem to be pretty popular choices for motor and controller. Anyone have pics when they wired theirs up? I have a KMG set up I could look at for example but thought maybe someone here has done this already. Pics show the VFD and Motor Thanks Larry.

Larry, I guess my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm a bit confused about what you're asking. Are you saying you have an existing KMG that has a 3ph motor with a KBAC VFD that's working. KMG has a good setup there for sure.

Are you asking how to wire up an additional 3ph motor and KBAC drive? Will this go on a 2nd 2X72 grinder? Or perhaps a disk grinder? Are you needing wiring info? Or, perhaps ideas on how to mount the KBAC drive for a grinder?

I'm sure your question is clear to you (and perhaps other folks), perhaps it's just my coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Sorry the new motor and VFD for my SECOND grinder is what I pictures of above and I was needing help with. If you or someone else has wired these up and took pics I would love to see them. Otherwise I thought I could look at my KMG set up and try and follow that set up. I would guess its similar. Anyway sorry for the confusion. -Larry

You might look inside the plate on the side of the motor. Mine is similar but 110 instead of 220. If you don't have a wiring diagram for the KBAC I believe I have one. I'll need to look for it. I'll check back in a while and let you know.

Thanks Sean I think I have one. Appreciate it

OK, I understand a bit better now (coffee's kicked in?). AS Sean said, you'll need to look at the motor nameplate to check the wiring there. It'll show low voltage ( 220vac which is what you'll want) and high voltage (460vac).

The KBAC manual has pretty good wiring info - the motor will have 3 wires (4 counting ground). The 3 "hot" wires will go to the U V & W terminals on the left side, and the AC input to the right side with the two "hot" wires to L2 & L3. That numbering is interesting, I'd expect to see L1 & L2 for the inputs. Yes, your existing KMG would (should) be a good "go by" to wire up the new setup.

Yeah I will get after this soon. Putting the grinder together first, and then the wiring will come next. Thanks for the help. -Larry

Went red on the frame for this one.
