Using Argon when H/T?

Greetings,

Anyone use an inert gas in there oven? Is if a viable alternative to foil? Better? Worse? Come one guys someone out there has to have some experience with it?

One thing to consider.
If you cycle back and forth between an Argon atmosphere and normal atmosphere, you will shorten the life cycle of the elements by re-oxidizing the elements every time you cycle back to "normal" air.
I couldn't tell you at all by how much. In talking over Argon atmosphere treating with the (last) president of Paragon, he said it would be a problem but couldn't really define how much shorter life you would get. It's not an immediate failure but it all adds up.
