Thanks Boss! What can you tell me about the Soviet Spetznaz survival knife? Sorry I didn't include a pic of it. The one thing that comes to my mind is the hollow handle which is held on by a nut in the bottom of the handle. It's carbon steel and I "blued" the blade after cleaning it up.

Thanks Mike. I'm looking forward to a full tang Carter version of this big knife. It will be much more tough without having to worry about the hollow handle breaking.
I hope that you get the whole rig by the end of the week to examine. She'll be up for sale after that!

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm not quite there yet with my crafting, the pouch took me about 4 hours. I'm still pluggin' away though! I'll post up some pictures of the big knife under the choppers thread in a bit.
