Reproduction of geronimo's concho sheath

Here is a reproduction I made of Geronimo's Concho Sheath, for my Father's Birthday. Geronimo was wearing the original sheath when he finally decided to stop fighting, and made his final agreement with the soldiers to live in peace. He went in with the soldiers, but in his heart, he never surrendered.

Where did you find the photos and other materials to work from? I like to read up on the history behind that sheath. It is beautifully done, my friend.

My copy of the original photo came from one of the old Time Life Books on the Old West that were published I believe, in the 1970's...I think the specific book was titled "The Great Chiefs." Now, you'll have to take into consideration in the original photo his sheath was much used and worn, so it obviously doesn't look brand new like my repro does. :001_smile:

Thanks guys...this is actually the first "repro" of a historic sheath I have done, but I may do more in the future, time permitting.
