Ran across an old worship cd in my wife's car. Lots of real simple worship songs and most came right out of the bible. I find these old songs a lot like the bible in that they never get old. They just seem to fit with the times. Open the Flood Gates of Heaven, is on my top 10 list.

A good deal of the time we do and or sing things without understanding the meaning or paying much attention to what it is we are doing or saying. We sing because it makes us feel good or we do because we enjoy it.
This song is mainly about humbling ourselves and surrendering to the Lord of All. Its about crying and the weakness we experience while the tears are flowing. Weakness is mentioned a number of times in the Bible but weakness is meant in a good way. For when we are weak then He is strong. In our weakened state we can also be filled with the Holy Spirit. I try to keep my Spirit gauge on full. Things just go better with a full tank of Spirit.
