New Slip Joint I just sold

Hello everyone,

I haven't really posted much lately due to life being very busy, but I wanted to share a slip joint I just recently made for a friend of mine. He wanted to give his father something different and unique for Christmas. So he asked me to make him an old school slip joint style knife like the one I made my own father over a year ago. I haven’t had as much time as I would like to work on making knives, however I was able to get this one and another finished literally 2 days before Christmas eve. I was upset about how the etch came out on this knife. However I did get it perfect on the other one, which is just a basic slip joint with carbon fiber scales.

Btw, he said his dad loved it. Makes me feel great hearing that.

Slip Joint
Liner material 410ss
Bolster material 410ss
Pin material 410ss
Blade and Spring AEB-L
Heat treat done by me in my Paragon unit
Blade free hand ground
Wood is 3,400 year old bogwood oak
Bolsters were soldered on by me not integral
File work on blade and spring was deeper and more pronounced before I had to grind some of the spring away to meet up flush with the handle/liners.

Here are some of the pics. As usual I never know what to post so I just upload a ton of them.

You did a very good, clean job!!
I find it very nice the back bolsters, as they add visual balance...their small dimensions and placement really spot on!
I'm not a fan of fileworks, but yours is very accurate

I like it!! I followed along on Instagram during the build and enjoyed the progress pics. Pick out the best pic and put it in the folder awards category. Or, I'll nominate you, just not sure which pic you'd like to be submitted.
