Look what I just won an eBay
It's a singer 29-4. It's from a shoe shop that I new and have been to. So one its close to my house so no shipping, but more importantly I know the machine is in good working condition
So you guys got any advice, bout the old singers or just tips for a user new to sewing with a machine?

Very nice treadle machine!

I have Singer 185J with the metal rods (instead of newer plastics) that I have been trying to sell... You want to start a Singer Collection? LOL...

Congrats Chef

I'd qwiz the guys in the shop when you pick it up. How thick will it handle, thread the machine like's, any little quirks it has. The tips you get from them will save you tons of time figureing out little problems later.

Chef, the Singer is a fine machine but it a little light weight for a sheath for holster work. It is primarily a patcher for the shoe cobbler. You will find it valuable for light inlays.--------------Sandy

Yes, Chef, the Singer 29 is a light duty machine. Industrial strength, but light weight duty.

Well Done :35:

Singer simple 23-stitch 2263 sewing machine is also better for beginners but not for older.
