My first knife of 2018

This knife has an overall length of 9 1/2”. The blade, tip to bolster, is 4 3/4”. The blade steel is AEB-L. The handles are stabilized red elm with 416 stainless steel bolsters. The knife also has some file work. The bevels have an 800 grit satin finish with 400 grit on the flats.

Looks fantastic. Never seen red elm scales before, I like the looks of them. Just need to slather them with some polyurethane or lacquer or such. How did you do the file work, is it with a dremel or done by hand with some sort of special tool?

Thank you. I can't remember from whom I bought the scales but they were stabilized and at a good price, so I thought I'd try them. The file work was done with files by hand.
