Just did a quick "proof" etch on these two.....

Got what I wanted in this one...

But this one got a bit more compacted then I'd hoped....

Top one is getting turned into a high end hunter for a client. I think I might work on the second one a bit and try to draw it widthwise..... to open it up a bit. All these years, and I'm still like a kid with a new toy, with each new billet.

I hear you...I've often said that the feeling of pulling a blank/blade out of the etch is exactly like unwrapping the first x-mas gift as a child....which is a big part of the reason why I do more knifemaking than 'traditional' blacksmithing for the past 6 years...
